Counselling can offer a supportive space to help manage something difficult or help to see things differently. I offer a confidential environment in which to explore, at your pace, the difficulties you may be facing at this time. I’m an integrative transpersonal counsellor and work relationally, meaning that the heart of the work is a respectful therapeutic relationship with my clients.
Each therapeutic encounter is unique and my training has taught me to weave different branches of psychotherapeutic theories together, trusting that several ‘truths’ can co-exist. An integrative approach encourages us to be curious about the past and present, whilst also giving a place to imagination and the possibility of new ideas.
I also work from a soulful perspective, which can mean many things but I often think of soul as intuition – a quiet voice within that often knows the answer to things we think we can’t comprehend. Transpersonal therapy seeks to reconnect to this soulful voice, often uncovering meaningful answers in our lives. Above all, my approach is creative and sensitive to the needs of who I am working with. I aim to maintain a fully inclusive practice and welcome enquiries from anyone who is considering therapy. Some of the areas in which I work are anxiety, depression, addictions, bereavement, loss and grief, low self-esteem, abuse, relationship difficulties, self-harm and suicidal thoughts and issues relating to difference such as sexuality, religion, culture, race, gender, mental health or disability.
My full training was at Re-Vision and prior to this, I completed a Postgraduate Certificate in the Therapeutic Arts from the Institute of Arts in Therapy and Education.
My first training many years ago was in music and I am still an active musician. I’ve also worked in music education, teaching students of all ages, from young to adult learners and I was also a music practitioner in a Special Educational Needs school and ran multi-sensory mother and baby groups.
Alongside my private practice, my background as a counsellor involves working for Mind in North East London and for a mental health community service in Hackney.
I am registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I fully abide by their codes of ethics.
