I have been qualified as a clinical psychologist for fifteen years and worked within NHS Services until 2022, most recently working as Principal Clinical Psychologist at the Centre for Anxiety Disorders and Trauma at the Maudsley Hospital in South London. In addition to providing therapy, I also teach and supervise other therapists, both those at the start of their career and those who are qualified and in senior roles. I have a teaching post at Kings College London, working with trainee therapists and psychologists.
I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), I am a British Psychological Society chartered member and I am accredited with the BABCP, both as a therapist and a supervisor, reflecting my clinical skill and commitment to attending regular supervision and continued training.
My Approach
I know that many people have experienced anxiety for a long time before reaching out for help. I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation so that you can ensure you feel fully confident I am the right person to help you achieve your therapy goals before starting treatment.
I am a compassionate, warm and collaborative psychologist who aims not only to achieve a reduction in symptoms, but also to help you move towards your goals and a more positive future. My approach is based on my strong belief in the power of CBT to bring about lasting and meaningful change to your life. I use CBT in my work as it is considered the ‘gold standard’ treatment for people with anxiety disorders with research supporting its effectiveness.
I use my in-depth knowledge of anxiety disorders and extensive experience in CBT to support you, even if you have struggled with anxiety for many years. Treatment starts with a thorough assessment and with creating a shared understanding (called a ‘psychological formulation’) of how your difficulties have developed and what is keeping them going. CBT is a ‘doing’ therapy as well as a talking therapy so involves working together in the sessions to overcome avoidance and approach life without using behaviours which may have kept you feeling stuck. This often involves completing ‘behavioural experiments’ both in the session, supported by me, and between the sessions, which help you to explore or test out your beliefs about yourself, other people and how the world works. Treatment ends with completing a detailed, written plan which outlines what you have learnt in therapy and how you are going to continue making progress.
Availability
I offer face to face sessions on a Tuesday afternoon between 12.00 and 17.00. I also offer remote sessions via Zoom throughout the week which enables me work with people who are based all over the UK or who may only be able to fit in sessions around work commitments.

My rate is £150 per 50 minute therapy session.
I also accept funding via health care insurance including Bupa, WPA and Healix. Please do get in touch if you would like to fund treatment via insurance.
