A bit about me:
If you are here, you might be struggling in some way, and wanting some support from someone who is not already in your life.
You might be looking for a therapist because of negative patterns that you seem to be repeating, or because of unhelpful narratives you tell yourself and which hold you back.
Maybe you have been struggling to feel happy, because you’d like to work through a specific issue, or because you want someone (and somewhere) you can feel genuinely seen and heard by.
I’m an integrative counsellor, which means my therapeutic approach is tailored to each client and informed by several different theories. These range from looking at how our earliest experiences have influenced our current relationships and sense of security, to humanistic theory, via my creation of a non-judgemental and safe space for us to work together.
My previous counselling experience includes working at a reduced-cost counselling service in Hackney, and I have worked with a range of clients from diverse cultures, genders and sexualities.
My practice:
I believe that the relationship between therapist and client is like no other, in that it can provide a connection, and opportunity for exploration and honesty, that is not always possible in our personal relationships. I can help to shoulder the burden of the difficulties you’re experiencing, and we can find a productive way forward together.
I work with a range of areas, including: abuse, anxiety, depression, fertility issues, LGBTQ+ counselling, loneliness, low confidence/self-esteem, relationships, self-harm, stress, work-related issues.
I have a Diploma in Integrative Counselling from The Minster Centre in London, a leading training institution for counsellors and psychotherapists. I am currently studying for a Masters in Integrative Psychotherapy, also at The Minster Centre, and accredited by Middlesex University.
I am a registered member with the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, and I adhere strictly to their ethical framework. I also take part in regular supervision, which is a professional requirement for all counsellors and psychotherapists.
Practical info:
Sessions are weekly and last 50 minutes. We can work together short-term, say for 12 sessions, or longer-term (one year plus) depending on what is right for you.
Session costs are between £65-£75 dependent on the time of day.
I aim to make the first step towards counselling as simple and comfortable as possible. I offer a free, 15-minute chat so we can learn a bit more about each other, and decide if going ahead ‘feels right’, before we arrange our first full session.
