About Me
Hello, I’m Seyche and I’m a BACP-registered integrative counsellor, offering a compassionate and down-to-earth approach to therapy. I know that taking the first step into counselling can feel daunting. My goal is to create a space where you feel comfortable, heard, and supported. Whether you’re facing a specific challenge or simply want to understand yourself better, I’m here to help.
Areas of Specialisation
- Anxiety: Manifesting as panic, worry, and overthinking
- Depression and low mood: Affecting motivation, energy, and finding joy in daily life
- Self-esteem and confidence: Overcoming self-doubt and negative self-perception
- Fertility challenges and parenthood: Navigating the emotional highs and lows
- Relationship difficulties: Including family, friendships, and romantic relationships
- Workplace stress and burnout: Managing pressure and finding balance
- Bereavement and loss: Processing grief in your own time and way
- Trauma and difficult experiences: Making sense of past events and moving forward
Among my areas of focus, I have a special interest in supporting those facing fertility challenges. My own journey through fertility treatment has given me first-hand insight into the emotional rollercoaster it can bring – hope, disappointment, grief, and uncertainty. Along with the physical toll it can take. If you’re feeling lost, overwhelmed, or struggling to make sense of it all, you don’t have to go through it alone.
How I Work
I believe in the power of genuine connection. With warmth and acceptance, I create a safe and trusting space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions freely, without judgment. Respect, courage, compassion, and integrity are at the heart of my practice, shaping every session and interaction.
While therapy is a collaborative process, I always respect your autonomy. My role is to support and empower you, helping you build self-awareness, clarity, and resilience. Together, we can develop strategies to navigate life’s challenges with confidence and independence.
My Background
I have always been fascinated by human connection – how we communicate, relate, and make sense of our experiences. Before becoming a counsellor, I spent over 20 years working in communications, with a strong focus on social justice. My work allowed me to engage deeply with issues such as mental health discrimination, gender-based violence, racism, and inequality.
Over time, I realised that what truly fulfilled me was working directly with people, supporting them on a more personal level. This led me to retrain as a counsellor, earning a diploma in integrative counselling with a focus on diversity and intersectionality. My training helped me understand the impact of identity – race, gender, sexuality, and other lived experiences – on our mental health and relationships.
Getting Started
I offer a free 20-minute consultation to help us determine whether we are a good fit. This is an opportunity for you to ask any questions and get a sense of how I work.
In our first full session, we will explore what has brought you to counselling and what you hope to gain from our work together. I’ll also carry out a brief assessment to help guide our work. You’re welcome to share at your own pace – there’s no pressure to go into anything before you’re ready.
Practice Description
I am trained in Person-Centred, Psychodynamic, and CBT. I offer individual counselling sessions both face-to-face and online. Sessions are weekly, lasting 50 minutes.
Whether you’re looking for short-term support to navigate specific challenges or a deeper, longer-term therapeutic journey, I offer a flexible and tailored approach.
